Best 6 rounds from 9 to give your regional ranking for the brits.
Brit’s shirts & plate
Shirts will be available as last year from Mal Gilliatt the design of the shirts is as previous, with us having proper race shirts this means the shirts can be bought & used
Each year at the Brits until worn out of out grown.
If you require a shirt then this can be ordered at any event by seeing Mal or any regional representative.
Brit’s dispensation.
There has been a major change in dispensation from previous seasons anybody wishing to apply for this must do so directly to Roger Wilbraham’s & not through the region as before, the rules for these are stricter than previous so please ensure your members are aware of this. See new rules below
Regional Lap Top.
The allocation of funds for the purchase of a new & quicker Laptop has been granted, & Jason will purchase this.
Age classes.
It has been requested that were ever possible the Cruiser class & MTB classes be run as separate classes. This was accepted as we have seen a big increase in these classes but we would look to having a minimum of 3-4 riders to hold a class otherwise they will be mixed together as previous.
Novice riders.
It was reiterated that it was down to each host club to purchase trophies for there race for the top 3 riders in the 3 novice age groups (old rusty pre-owned trophies will not be acceptable) The region will order medals at there cost to be given to all other
Novice finalist at each regional race.
The cost of novice racing will remain at £5 per race; each race is separate with no end of season trophy, as the riders will be rewarded after each race meeting.
Any rider who rode all last season in Novice must now look to move up to expert unless they are not to a standard were they were able to make an A final in any race last season or they raced less than 4 events. In which case they may race a further 3 rounds in Novice this season then they will need to be reassessed to see if they are ready to progress to upto there expert class.
Any new Novice ride can as a rule ride a maximum of 1 season within this category, however if a Novice rider finishes in the top 3 at 6 different novice events then they
Would be expected to move up to expert class for the remaining races of the season.
Any novice wishing to ride the Brits will need to have rode the minimum of 5 rounds with 2 of these having moved upto there expert age class.
Help Required.
The region is constantly on the lookout for parents or older riders who wish to get involved in running these events, if anybody can give up there time to help out then
Please either contact a committee member or a club representative.
The region is desperate for 2 people to train up on the race computer along side Jason
At the moment if he is ill or away we can not run the event, we have had 1 person come forward asking to do this training but still need at least 1 more.
National event.
Derby have been allocated a event on 11-12th April we will need all hands on deck for this event as Derby in its current format is a young inexperienced club so all help that can be given over this weekend the better. Can anybody wishing to help please contact Lauren Smith with when & what they can do. Don’t forget with clubs within our region holding these events we would no doubt have been visiting the South West yet again at a much great cost to each rider/family so a few hours over the weekend is
much easier for us all.
Midlands Club Champ.
It was proposed and accepted that this season the region will purchase a good size trophy to be used for a new event within our region “the top midlands club”
The calculations for this will be done by taking each clubs top 4 scores at each regional event (no more than 1 novice score to count at each event) all 9 races will count towards this.
License
All riders except Novice will need to purchase a license this season, a maximum of 2 rounds will be permitted without this, after which your points will not be counted.
Any rider who has never before purchased a license can do so either fro free or at reduced cost (dependant of age) I have a hard copy of the forms if anyone requires them.
